Ms. D. (teacher)
My name is Jenny Drefs and I have been teaching for nine years... wow, the time has flown by! I absolutely love teaching kindergarten and spending my days with vibrant, playful, and kind children! This is my third year at M.P.S. I am inspired by inquiry-based learning and the Reggio Emilia philosophy of education for little ones. I value children's ideas and love listening to their emerging theories. I am looking forward to working with your child and family throughout the school year.
I currently live in Edmonton, but I was born and raised in Medicine Hat. I have moved back and forth between Edmonton and Medicine Hat over the years to attend the University of Alberta. I really enjoy reading, going for bike rides or walks, gardening, and cooking. But, my most favourite thing to do is travel! My family has an ongoing competition of who can go to the most countries; each year we update our personal travel maps and compare (I am currently in last place). This summer I backpacked around Southeast Asia for the fifth time, it's my happy place. |
Ms. Maria (educational assistant)
Hi, my name is Maria Willemsen. My family and I live on an acreage near Legal. My husband and I have four children and six grandchildren. We love to go camping in the mountains, where we like to hike and go on canoe trips. Other hobbies I have are reading, gardening, sewing, and knitting. I have worked in kindergarten for my last six years and this is my second year at Morinville Public School. |
